This piece, I did while I was at college. The statue in it was inspired by the Ancient Greek Archaic Kourai statues that I was learning about at the time. Overall, I would consider this one of the most surreal of all my paintings so far, since it hints at a narrative, but in reality it doesn't really mean anything. Because of the Statue and the items the central figure is holding in the piece, I felt it had a sort of cultic aspect to it which is why it is titled, "Cult Creatures," but it could mean something entirly different to someone else, which is a beautiful concept present in all art.
